MBABANE – Trojan Horse Chess club is set to host the Rapid Chess tournament at
Mozambik Restaurant in Mbabane, Corporate Place.
The tournament will be held in partnership with Mozambik Restaurant and will
take place this Saturday. According to Trojan Chess Club Director and Coach
William Siame, this is the first edition of the tournament and they are looking
forward to having players taking part. “We have organised this tournament for
chess enthusiasts to bring people together and let them have fun and enjoy the
activities that will be going on. It will be a first-of-its kind tournament and
we actually want to see how it turns out,” Siame said.
Meanwhile, registration is open up until this coming Friday. All participants in
the open category will be expected to pay an entry fee of E100. Those who will
compete in the Under-16 category are required to pay E80 per individual.The
competition will commence at 8:30am and run until 4pm. Chess players will
compete through a Swiss system in seven rounds.
