Dlomo urged the directors of the newly-established KYRO Sports Agency to register their organisation with the nation’s sports governing body. Representing the government parastatal, he shared this guidance during the agency’s launch at the Hilton Gardens Inn Hotel this past Tuesday evening, an event that drew a notable crowd from the local football community, including representatives from the Eswatini Football Association (EFA), the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) and various football clubs. Expressing his enthusiasm for this new initiative aimed at enhancing local football standards, Dlomo stressed the necessity of obtaining a licence from the ESRC, which oversees all sporting activities in the country. “The first crucial step for KYRO is to engage with us for a licence, as they will be undertaking the important function of promoting sports within the country,” he noted. Dlomo indicated that the ESRC anticipates KYRO applying for a licence in 2025, enabling the agency to operate in accordance with the council’s regulations. Potential He reaffirmed his optimism about the agency’s potential, citing the transformative influence of celebrated figures like Kina Phiri, Jan Simulambo and the late Ted Dimitru on Eswatini football. “The arrival of these individuals undoubtedly transformed the landscape of Eswatini football, elevating the sport to new heights,” he remarked. The experienced sports administrator expressed confidence that once licenced: KYRO would significantly aid in exporting local talent and attract international players and coaches to Eswatini.
