MANYISA SIGNS 4-YR DEAL WITH ‘BUFFS’

MBABANE - Young Buffaloes have signed former Mbabane Swallows midfielder Leon
‘Shuster’ Manyisa on a four-year deal.
The signing of the former Umkhonto KaShaka player, who was previously on the
wanted list of Royal Leopard, was announced on the team’s official social
media page on Facebook, where the player was unveiled and welcomed to the club
by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile Gwebu.
The talented attacking midfielder was recently granted his clearance on Thursday
afternoon to join a team of his choice, after initially resigning from the club
and enduring a tumultuous period concerning salaries.
Allegations suggest that players have gone unpaid for the past three months,
with their last payment in September being only half of their salaries.
Speaking after signing the player, a jubilant Gwebu expressed his delight at
securing the signature of the box-to-box midfielder. The CEO, who was also
celebrating his birthday on the day, praised Manyisa’s vast experience, having
played in the prestigious Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions
League with Mbabane Swallows, adding depth and quality to Young Buffaloes’
squad.
Talented
“As a club, we are delighted with the acquisition of Leon Manyisa, a young and
talented player who possesses a vast array of skills. We believe that with our
guidance and support, Leon will become an invaluable member of our team, helping
us to achieve greater heights in the coming seasons.
“Leon’s experience and talent will undoubtedly complement our existing
squad, and we are excited to have him on board. The future looks bright for our
club with Leon’s addition, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the
table,” he said.
Meanwhile, in an interview following his transfer to ‘Amathole Ezinyathi’,
Manyisa expressed his joy at joining the club and his resolve to make a valuable
contribution. “This is an exciting new phase for me, and I am eager to
contribute to Young Buffaloes’ continued success. I look forward to an
enjoyable and fulfilling experience,” he said.
Development
Manyisa, a product of Green Mamba’s developmental system, has parted ways with
Mbabane Swallows after spending four seasons with the club, joining them from
Manzini Wanderers in 2020. During his tenure with the Mbabane giants, the former
Manzini Wanderers player  was part of the team that lifted the prestigious
2023/2024 MTN Premier League trophy, adding to his collection of honours. His
departure marks a significant change in direction for both the player and the
club, with Manyisa setting his sights on fresh challenges and opportunities with
Buffaloes.
