MBABANE – The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has announced that referee
Celumusa Phiri has been selected for the prestigious CAF Young Talent Referees
Course in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Phiri will join a select group of young referees from across Africa for the
intensive training and development programme, which runs from March 3–8, 2025.
 His invitation is testament to his commitment, talent and potential.
The CAF Young Talent Referees Course aims to identify, develop and nurture
promising officials, equipping them for success at the highest levels of
football.
Phiri will receive world-class instruction and exposure to the latest
technologies, strategies and best practices in officiating. The course will be
led by experienced instructors, including CAF Referees Committee members, elite
referees and referee instructors.  The curriculum will cover various aspects of
officiating, such as match control, decision-making, positioning, teamwork,
communication, fitness and nutrition.
Phiri will also have the chance to network with other young referees from across
the continent, sharing experiences and building a support network for his
career. Muzi Radebe, Marketing and Communications Officer for the EFA, expressed
the association’s pride in Phiri’s selection.“This is a fantastic
opportunity for Phiri, showcasing his talent, hard work and dedication. We are
confident he will excel in the programme and represent Eswatini proudly. We wish
him all the best in Abidjan,” he said.
