JELE PURSUES MASTER’S IN SPORT MANAGEMENT

Mbabane – Off to Morocco. That is where the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth
Games Association (EOCGA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maxwell Jele, is
headed. Jele is pursuing an Executive Master’s Degree in Sport Organisation
Management (MEMOS), offered in Morocco. This undertaking commenced in the final
quarter of the previous quadrennial. The MEMOS programme is a training
initiative focused on sports organisation management, provided through the MEMOS
Association.
Skills
It equips individuals with specialised knowledge and skills necessary for
managing Olympic-level sports organisations. Its primary aim is to deliver
comprehensive training in the management of sports organisations, particularly
those involved in Olympic sports. This session underscores the collaborative
nature of the global sports community and the importance of fostering strong
relationships among sports leaders. Jele, who was recently reinstated to his
position a fortnight ago, is currently attending the second session of the
programme in Rabat. The session began on February 1 and will continue until
Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Confirmed
EOCGA Marketing and Communications Officer Mkhulisi Dlamini confirmed this
development. “This session promises to be an enriching experience for him, as
participants engage in discussions and workshops focused on various aspects of
sports management, further broadening their understanding of the field,”
Dlamini stated. He added that the CEO is expected to return home on February 13.
“His commitment to advancing his education not only benefits him personally,
but also enhances the EOCGA’s capacity to promote and support sports
development in Eswatini.
As he continues this important journey, he stands as an inspiration for aspiring
sports professionals in our community, demonstrating that dedication to learning
and growth is essential for making a positive impact in the sports industry,”
Dlamini further noted. He also revealed that this phase of Jele’s MEMOS
journey will provide him with the opportunity to meet Faïçal Laraïchi,
President of the Morocco National Olympic Committee (NOC), and representatives
from that country’s tennis association. This MEMOS programme spans over a
year.
