MBABANE – Kwaluseni delivered a stunning performance, defeating the previously
unbeaten Elangeni Dragons with a commanding scoreline of 3-0. This match, held
at the OlympAfrica Volleyball Courts in Lobamba this past Saturday, was
highly-anticipated due to Dragons’ impressive form leading up to the
encounter. From the outset, Kwaluseni asserted their dominance, taking control
from the very first serve and preventing their opponents from finding any
rhythm. The Dragons struggled to keep pace, with each set slipping away despite
their valiant efforts. Earlier in the day, the Dragons had faced Phoenix at
Court 1, where they secured a comfortable 3-0 victory, setting high expectations
for their subsequent matches.
Determination
However, Kwaluseni, displaying exceptional form and relentless determination,
dashed any hopes of a Dragons’ comeback, leaving Elangeni stunned by their
dominant display. Kwaluseni’s impressive outing was not the only highlight of
the day; the tournament showcased exhilarating action across both courts.
Sidwashini also produced a commanding performance, breezing past Zakhele with a
3-0 win on Court 2. Meanwhile, Phoenix, playing their second match of the day,
found themselves on the losing end again, succumbing to Fire Flames with a score
of 0-3.
Victory
The match between Sidwashini and Kwaluseni proved to be another treat for
spectators, with Kwaluseni ultimately securing a straight-set victory. Fire
Flames demonstrated their strength with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Sithobela,
showcasing resilience in the face of competition. In other results, Eagles made
a statement by thrashing Mvutjini 3-0 on Court 1, displaying excellent team
chemistry and relentless attacking play, leaving no doubt about their intentions
for the remainder of the league. Zakhele and Sithobela engaged in a thrilling
five-set encounter, with Sithobela emerging victorious by a narrow 3-2 margin.
