Times Of Swaziland: Gumede unfazed by team's slump Gumede unfazed by team's slump ================================================================================ BHEKISISA MAGONGO on 06/01/2011 00:00:00 MBABANE – Malanti Chiefs owner Dumisani Gumede has refused to press panic buttons at the club’s bad patch in the MTN Premier League. The team reached unprecedented heights last season, with a third place finish, but are now seventh in the log with 18 points from 13 games. They are nine points behind log leaders Manzini Wanderers. Gumede said they were still within their objectives, which is to improve from their last season standing. "I am personally not worried at all about our performance and even the few games that we have lost; we felt that there were decisions that did not go our way. We hope to use the Hellenic game to turn the corner," he said. He assured the supporters that star player Vusi Madinane who missed the past two games will be available for the remaining games. "He was held up by family problems but he will be back to boost the club this weekend. His experience was solely missed against Umbe-lebele," he said. Meanwhile, Gumede urged referees to improve their performance in the second round of the league. "We are putting a lot of money in preparing for games and referees should also ensure that they improve to make the game enjoyable," he said. The gold and black outfit has imploded to mid table in the past two months. They play a Hellenic side that has had an impressive first half of what has been their maiden season in top flight football. The game will be played at the Mavuso Sports Ground on Friday night.
