MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows striker Musa Dlamini was yesterday morning involved
in a car accident along the Mbabane – Manzini highway at Elangeni.
The MTN Premier League top goal scorer who was in the company of his uncle
sustained serious internal head injuries. He was admitted at the Mbabane
Government Hospital where he was attended by medical staff and discharged later
on.
The bad news will come as a shocker to Swallows’ faithful ahead of the
tight-clash against league contender Royal Leopard this coming Saturday at the
Somhlolo National Stadium. The game is set to kick-off at 3pm. When he was
visited yesterday at the Qobonga clubhouse the player had his head covered.
However, it could not be ascertained how long the play-er will stay on the
sidelines, because he was still to undergo further medical examinations. What is
certain though is that the player will miss today’s four team tournament at
the Prince of Wales.
Interviewed about the accident, he had difficulty speaking.
"I can’t speak. It’s hard to speak. I into an accident this morning
(yesterday). I’m still to check with the doctors to verify if I will be fit to
play this coming weekend. It was not a serious accident but I’m in pain now.

When the Times Sports Desk made a visit to the team’s clubhouse, the player
was found sleeping on his bed. He was in the company of Mkhulisi.
Mkhulisi said he received a call yesterday morning informing him that his
teammate, Dlamini had been admitted at the hospital.
"I went to check on him and found his family members and some other people. It
was hard to get more information on the injuries he sustained. But I’m aware
that he sustained internal head injuries. He was admitted and discharged later
on. It will depend on the doctor’s assessment," he said.
Swallows PRO Sibusiso Manana confirmed the matter.

"It is true, he sustained head injuries. I will go and check on him. I can’t
comment much about the accident until I get a doctor’s report and see him in
person," he said.
Police PRO Wendy Hleta said the matter had not yet reached them.
"I’m still to confirm although some reports are compiled late if the matter
happened today (yesterday)," she said.
The player has been a revelation in the league in his first season. He has
banged in 14 goals in 21 league games. He missed the grand opener against Young
Buffaloes because he was still to sign for the club. He looks destined for the
Top Scorer award, even though Green Mamba’s Muntu is closing in at 13 goals.
His absence against Leopard could prove detrimental to the Birds who are among
the four teams chasing for honours in this year’s gruelling title race.
