Times Of Swaziland: SwaziBank Cup brings E1m worth accounts! SwaziBank Cup brings E1m worth accounts! ================================================================================ CHRIS DLAMINI on 10/03/2012 00:00:00 MBABANE – The SwaziBank Cup promotion has seen the country’s football fans rake in almost a million Emalangeni for the bank in new accounts. The bank’s Managing Director Stanley Matsebula announced yesterday that the accounts opened by fans at E500 per person had gone well thus far as the bank had made close to a million Emalangeni already. "I’ am happy to announce that to date almost E1 million worth of new accounts have been opened, with Mahhala Weseli leading the pack at E298 151, 67; second is Mbabane Highlanders at E293 354, 96, while Mbabane Swallows is third at E160 551, 02," he announced. He said on fourth position was Malanti Chiefs at E32 945, 87 with police side Royal Leopard taking fifth at E25 035, 79. "We expect teams to make more effort than this to snatch the prizes," he said. He said the exercise was going well but since the deadline for the accounts opening is on March 31 at 12 noon when all SwaziBank Cup branches close, they expected the numbers to have increased. This also prompted the club PROs to call for more accounts opening with the bank. Mbabane Highlanders’ PRO Dumsani ‘DU’ Sibandze said their supporters would not let him down by letting Manzini Wanderers walk away with the prize when they were the biggest team. "Let’s open more accounts ma-Highlanders and everything will be 9 Yamampela. Remember the E500 you deposit when opening the account is not for the club but yours and stays in your personal account so let’s keep opening the accounts so we win everything the tournament has to offer," he said. Mbabane Swallows’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Manana urged not only their supporters but everyone in the country to open the accounts. "This is a national event so let us also open the accounts nationally. We expect to see doubled figures by the time the deadline for the promotion comes," he said. Other PROs from the eight quarterfinalists also called for a positive response to the accounts’ opening. Meanwhile, Wanderers has overtaken Highlanders who were leading in the accounts competition with a grand prize of E50 000 for the club to have more fans having the accounts.
