MATSAPHA – Mozambique national teams dominated the international friendly
games against local teams played on Saturday at Matsapha Correctional Services.
The Mozambican squads including the ladies and the men’s were in the country
to play against Correctional Services volleyball teams in preparations of the
World Cup Qualifiers they will be playing in next month.
Correctional Services invited the Royal Swaziland Police (RSP) and Zakhele
Ladies to be part of the games.
The first match was between Zakhele Ladies against the Mozambican side. The
latter won the game 2-0. The second game saw the Mozambican ladies beating
Correctional Services 2-0.
In the men’s section, both Correctional Services and RSP lost 1-2 against the
Mozambicans.
Correctional Services Volleyball Technical Director Thulani Maposa said the
games went well. He said they were happy that Mozambique came to give them the
practice they needed.
“It’s not only Mozambique that benefited from the games as we have also
benefited. We are happy that we included other teams, being RSP and the Zakhele
Ladies,” he said. Maphosa said they played well considering that they were
playing against national team players who are preparing for big games.
