Times Of Swaziland: First come first serve, ‘Sawa’ tells Highlanders, Wanderers First come first serve, ‘Sawa’ tells Highlanders, Wanderers ================================================================================ BY NTUTHUKO DLAMINI on 20/08/2013 02:10:00 MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders right back Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze has cleared the air regarding his transfer after being linked to Manzini Wanderers. The player, who claimed to be out of contract at Mbabane Highlanders, has denied being contacted by Wanderers recently, but was quick to state that he was ready to sign for any club seeking his services. He is currently recuperating from a hamstring injury sustained on duty with Sihlangu last month, and is expected to resume light training with Highlanders. His contract, he said, expired in June, but would start light training on Thursday according to doctors’ advice. The player said Manzini Wanderers last spoke to him three months ago, but there has been no communication recently. “If they come with a good offer then I will sign for them, but I will start training with Highlanders on Thursday and if they also give an offer I will take it because my interest is to play football,” he said. Wanderers PRO Lington Gule said they did show interest in the player but now the matter was handled by senior authorities in the team. “The technical bench and the directors are the ones working on the matter. For now there is nothing official communicated to me. I will be in a better position to comment once i have been briefed,” he said. Meanwhile, Mbabane Highlanders PRO David Litchfield said the player is contracted and has a loan agreement with South Africa’s Vodacom side Super Eagles, which was deferred to this season. “He knows what happened with Super Eagles, we expect him to honour the loan deal with the South African side,” he said.
