Times Of Swaziland: OUR BIG MEET ON SATURDAY OUR BIG MEET ON SATURDAY ================================================================================ BY SIBUSISO MANANA (Mbabane Swallows acting CEO) on 07/03/2014 05:14:00 Greeting Mkhonto KaShaka, greetings, Nqolebovu Kamasizila, yize bekhala yize belila, Sanibonani Swai Swai, good day to you all ‘Beautiful Birds’. It is yet another Friday, which obviously means it is the time of the week when we get to talk on issues affecting your favourite team, our great club. It pleases me Swai Swai to announce today that tomorrow at 2pm at the Mbabane Library we will be having a National Supporters Meeting. You will recall that it has been a very long time since we got together to share ideas. It will be during the meeting that we will introduce our newly-appointed National Supporters Committee (NSC) to all of you. The agenda will obviously be from the NSC but I can assure you now that there will be a lot of matters which we will be discussing as this great family. I am inviting each and every one of you beautiful Birds to make it to this important meeting without fail. We have to strategise seeing that we are approaching the end of the season. As supporters, you must know that you also have a role to play in the club. Your attendance will determine how far your support will go towards this great side of ours. Blessed are those that have played against us Blessed are those that have already played against Mbabane Swallows FC. Woe, however, unto those that are still to meet this grinding machine. Our next encounter should be against Midas City in the SwaziBank Cup quarterfinals. We are not taking anything for granted. We know what this tournament is capable of. We have seen the so-called big guns biting the dust in spectacular fashion in this tournament. We will not make the mistake of underestimating City because that would be suicidal. Our aim, which is to win the tournament and defend it successfully, has not changed. Yes, we still have the hunger and desire to do well. Next week, I will be launching our operation for the remainder of the season. It is time we seperate men from boys. We are glad as a team that others have already started dreaming about playing this great team. We, on the other hand, are taking each game as it comes and right now focus will be on the SwaziBank Cup clash against Midas City. I can assure you Swai Swai that we will be unleashing our full might on every opponent we come across. We will not be merciful but will be merciless and ruthless. After the SwaziBank Cup quarterfinals, focus will once again be on the league where we want to set the record straight once and for all, especially against some teams that think they are now in our league. We have heard some teams describing a fixture against us as E’l Classico, but we want to state it now that our only rival in the country is Mbabane Highlanders despite that they were relegated. As a team we do not consider playing this team as a big match. Instead, we will prepare just like we did against Mvuma Hotspurs. Over the years we have built a huge fan base from the over 10 trophies we have won in the past decade. We are not even able to count how many supporters we have, but we know what our supporters are capable of doing. If anything it is such teams that are motivated by playing a team of our status. Once again, a thousand thank you I will never tire of thanking you Mkhonto KaShaka for the role you have played and continue playing in the ongoing SwaziBank Cup promotion of the Lungisa Funeral Plan. Last week, we were presented with E20 000 by the sponsors of the tournament after our supporters led the way in the opening of accounts under the promotion. I said last week that the argument on which is the most followed side in the country should be put to rest. I do hope you will maintain the momentum you have set by ensuring we win the award every week. Football really owes a lot to SwaziBank and the football people must show their appreciation by also supporting the bank’s promotions and also by opening new bank accounts. Good luck to Sihlangu We have four players travelling with the national team, Sihlangu. These are defenders Sifiso Mabila and Sanele Mkhweli. The others are our captain and Sihlangu skipper Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze and midfielder Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu. We are fully aware that ordinarily we would be having eight or nine of our players in the squad but for some reason the coaches opted to give others a chance as well and we have no problems with that. Every player deserves a chance to wear the national team kit especially those players from teams who will never get to play in the Africa Cup for the necessary international exposure. I want to take this opportunity to wish our travelling team all the best in the two games they will play against the Lesotho national team. We do hope that they will hoist the country’s flag during the games because the country’s reputation is at stake. I will talk to you again next week Swai Swai, I love you all! Shaka akashayeki!
