The police allegedly found the suspect, Nkululeko Sgora Mavuso (31) of Ticantfwini naked, raping one of the women he had dragged from the public road, while walking home from work. The abandoned house where the rape incident occurred is situated in thick bushes near the Manzini Industrial Training Centre (MITC), near St Michael’s. Information gathered is that the officers on Saturday went to the said house and while approaching the place, they allegedly heard one of the women the suspect allegedly raped screaming inside the house. “When they went inside carrying service pistols, the suspect stopped and escaped through the window, leaving the woman half naked, however, after firing warning shots, the suspect surrendered and was apprehended by the team of police,” a well-placed source said. The suspect, after questioning is alleged to have admitted to raping two women whom he allegedly dragged from the road to the abandoned house. One of the women was raped without protection several times by Mavuso, while the other was raped four times, however, with a condom. The survivors of his increasingly brazen pattern of attacks included one Phila* (26), who had been passing through the MITC public road and was allegedly raped about nine times without protection by Mavuso who further robbed her of a silver Samsung Galaxy X6, valued at E1 200. It was also gathered that the said woman had allegedly been held captive for a few days by the suspect, who would then rape her at knife-point.
