Times Of Swaziland: Cabinet ministers still in office Cabinet ministers still in office ================================================================================ BY KWANELE DHLADHLA on 06/08/2013 03:20:00 MBABANE - While Parliamentarians were officially dissolved by the King on Friday; Cabinet Ministers have remained in office. Minister of Public Works and Transport Ntuthuko Dlamini, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze and Minister of Finance Majozi Sithole all confirmed that they were still in office yesterday. Attorney General Majahenkhaba Dlamini said the King dissolved MPs during Sibaya last week, stating that the Executive was a separate arm of government that was dissolved at a later stage in the past. “In the past, Cabinet remained in office after dissolution of parliament for weeks. I suppose the same could happen depending on what has been planned this year,” Dlamini said. Government Spokesperson Percy Simelane said: “Everybody heard for themselves what His Majesty the King said. His message was in Siswati. We are not prepared to back-announce him.” In his address, His Majesty King Mswati III said Parliament had been dissolved. He said an ad-hoc committee would continue to finalise operations in the meantime. His Majesty termed the committee as ‘sigejane’. “As the elections process begins tomorrow (Saturday), it cannot run well if it can take off while some Swazis are still in Parliament when they are expected to participate. This Parliament has worked well; we cannot overlook the good work they have done. They have worked with honesty and with diligence,” His Majesty said.
