MBABANE – Both Mbabane Swallows stars did not have many words about their
reported Wednesday training bust-up but made it clear it was all water under the
bridge now – focus is on Sunday.
This will definitely come as a relief to the Swallows’ faithful ahead of
crucial Ingwenyama Cup final against a revamped Royal Leopard who they have
dominated over the last few seasons. It had shocked them and many football
followers yesterday morning to learn from newspapers that training had to be cut
short after the duo had serious misunderstanding and allegedly exchanged blows
over a crude tackle.
“You can talk to Sandile for all I know I’ve got nothing to say. I’m just
over this and there’s nothing to worry about,” was all Mkhweli said.
He insisted on not committing himself to the matter and that he was okay.
Badenhorst who often shies away from the media was also adamant ‘it was all
water under the bridge’ now.
“I am focussed and come Sunday I’ll deliver. Yes, it’s wrong but it
happens in football and we’re not the first and last to experience it. We are
still Swallows and will give our best Sunday,” he said.
Swallows or Umkhonto KaShaka’s General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane
who had pleaded absentia from the session at the time the incident happened, was
also reached on this again yesterday.
“First problem we have is the person or people who put this on social
networks.
“Secondly, we have learnt why most clubs do not allow fans to their training
grounds and we’ll be revisiting that as a club but in the end we’ll have
closed sessions and a stipulated open day for our supporters,” he said.
