MBABANE – “Could this be Tristan Roques’ chance to play for Amazulu F.C
Junior club?”
The 12-year-old youngster could soon realise his dream after he impressed during
the Amazulu football clinics which were held in the past two weeks at Montessori
Primary School.
The football clinics included children from ages nine to 14.
This was confirmed by Montessori High School Head of Football Gerard Shields
yesterday.
“It is true that Tristan has been invited for trials at Amazulu and we are
elated about this rare opportunity that has been afforded to the youngster,”
said Shields.
When asked when Tristan would leave for trials, Shields said they were yet to be
briefed about the date.
“Amazulu official said they would call us when it is right for the boy to
attend the trials but it will be soon,” he said.
Shields further said the initiative was a great experience.
“It was a great initiative between the Eswatini Football Association and
AmaZulu FC. The Principal, Thea Rudd, commented that is was good exposure and an
opportunity for the schools to be coached together in this way. The students
were excited and inspired to be coached by a professional football club.
Hopefully, some of our talented players caught their eye,” he added.

Tristan said he was happy about the invitation.
“I’m really excited to go. I feel it will be an amazing experience for me to
improve my football and get to meet new people” Tristan said.
AmaZulu also invited another school, Ntuthukweni Primary School, also from
Mbabane, to attend the soccer clinics.
The clinics were run by Ronnie Moroka, the Technical Director of AmaZulu, 
Ayanda Mkhize, the Chief Scout and Boy ‘Bizzah’ Mkhonta, the Technical
Director of the Eswatini Football Association. There were 60 children who took
part in the clinic, both girls and boys.
