Jeremiah's lover' threatened with violence
MANZINI - Members of Apostle Jeremiah Dlamini’s church have banned the woman alleged to have a relationship with their apostle from the church.
Nokwazi Dlamini (21) is being threatened with violence should she dare come to the church again.
This comes after comments she made about church members ‘minding their own business’ published in the Times Sunday.
The church members feel that what Kunene said was the worst form of insults and want to beat her should she come back to the church as she threatened in the article.
Asked if they were aware that they wanted to commit a crime, the members said they were ready to face the consequences but wanted to ‘teach Nolwazi a lesson’.
This newspaper gathered that about three months back, Kunene was attacked by some church members for her relationship with the pastor and the matter went unreported to the police. Some of the church members confessed to have been part of those who beat her up the first time. During an interview with the Times Sunday, Kunene denied having an intimate relationship with the pastor but that he had assisted her in many things and told everyone else to back off.
However, this did not go down well with other church members who held a ‘caucus’ meeting last Sunday just after church and resolved that Kunene should never come back to the church. The Times was invited to the mini ‘caucus’ and was informed to warn Kunene that should she dare come back to the church she would be assaulted. Kunene was quoted saying she wanted to come back to the church.
A woman who identified herself as Thobile Zikodze said they were unhappy about Kunene’s ‘bragging’ yet the Apostle’s wife was in pain back home.
“We are doing this in support of the woman whom the pastor left behind,” roared another woman, who said she was Nomvula Msibi.
They also confirmed that they know of reports that Kunene was once assaulted by some members of the church about three months back.
They said they would do the same to her.
Kunene has come out to say she is sticking by the pastor despite all the trouble he is currently going through and irrespective of the damage this does to the church.
Kunene’s relationship with the Apostle has divided the church, while some are for the Apostle, others are against him.
Efforts to get a comment from the Apostle hit a snag as a church elder, identified only as Nxumalo, said the apostle was out of the country.
His phone was not available on the MTN network. Kunene was also reportedly out of the country when this article was compiled on Sunday.
