PLS lays 47 charges against Pirates
MBABANE – The Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) has released a charge sheet with 47 charges preferred against Moneni Pirates.
The charges all revolve around violence and putting the name of the game into disrepute. They all emanate from assaulting referee Phinda Sihlongonyane in a league game against Mbabane Highlanders a fortnight ago.
The charges were released by the PLS CEO, Zakhele Dlamini, who said the Manzini based ensemble is expected to appear before the DC on October 26.
"We have already charged Pirates and the charge sheet has been released to the implicated parties. We expect the team and the cited officials and players will appear before the DC before the end of the month," he said.
Pirates as a team faces 35 ch-arges and most of the charges ranges around failure to control fans and supporters who ended up assaulting the referee.
Pirates’ Director, Osborne Nzima, faces 2 charges of assaulting the referee and putting the name of the game into disrepute.
Three other officials, Two-man Masuku, Sibusiso Nkambule, and Vusi Simelane all face two charges each raging from assaulting the referee to putting the name of the game into disrepute.
Three players, Clenboy Dube, Menzi Simelane, and Thabiso Zungu were charged with assaulting the referee and putting the name of the game into disrepute.
The charges excluded those of team director and PLS Chairman Sipho Matse who Dlam-ini said he will be charged by the National Football Association by virtue of his position in the PLS.
He said the FA will decide on the DC date for Matse.
