Beauty pageant sector shocker
MBABANE – Several individuals in the beauty pageant industry have expressed shock at the sudden death of ex-Miss Swaziland Tiffany Simelane.
The beauty queen committed suicide on Monday afternoon and finally succumbed to death while undergoing treatment at the Mbabane Clinic. Simelane had handed over the beauty pageant crown barely three weeks ago to the current Miss Swaziland Nompilo Mncina. The interviewed individuals reacted in the following manner;
Simanga Mamba - Ligcabho Lebuhle eSwatini: I haven’t heard of her death. Are you sure she is really dead. I am so shocked, I even run out of words to say. Tiffany did not have any major scandals during her reign. She maintained her reign, although she had her mistakes, until she officially handed over the crown. I cannot come to think of what could have led her to take her own life.
Nompilo Mncina - Miss Swaziland: I am so shocked at Tiffany’s death. We did not spend a lot of time together but I saw her during photo-shoots and other activities. I noticed that she was so shy and tended to keep things to herself. She was so intelligent and that is why I am so shocked that she could end her life. I would also like to send my condolences to her family.
Nokwanda Simelane - Former Miss SD First Princess: I have heard the news of her death but I thought it was just a prank since some people were saying she had not died. I cannot believe that bit is true. We were not very close and we haven’t kept in contact since she changed her phone number. I don’t know what could be so bad that she could take such a drastic decision. Maybe we were not aware of troubling issues in her life.
Bongani Mamba - SNCAC Vice Chairperson: On behalf of the Board, Council and the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs I would like to express our deepest sympathy at the tragic news of the sudden demise of Tiffany Simelane, the former Miss Swaziland. As Council and all affiliates, we are dumbfounded and still reeling with shock. It is with regret to learn of such news after a successful reign in her duties as the country’s ambassador for a whole year. Our heartfelt condolences, prayers for God’s relief and guidance to her family and relatives at this dark hour. Indeed time is too short for those who rejoice and too long for those who grieve; but for those who love God, time is eternity. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
