CONGRATS JUDGE QINISILE MABUZA
Sir,
May I take this opportunity to congratulate Judge Qinisile Mabuza for being elected to join the COMESA judges. Justice Mabuza deserved to be part of the COMESA judges because of her vast experience in law.
I hope the country is also pleased to have produced people of Mabuza’s calibre. Even the women of Swaziland should be proud that a woman has been elected to represent Swaziland in COMESA.
The Women and the Law should have been the first to congratulate Judge Qinisile Mabuza.
Mabuza handled the case of Mzikayise Ntshangase of Mantambe area in the Shiselweni region accordingly. She investigated all proceedings related to the case filed by the state. It was Justice Mabuza who drove to Mpuluzi to find out if it was proper to bury Mr Ntshangase in a foreign community under the kingdom of Nhloko Zwane, Chief of the area.
Seeing that there were no graves for Ntshangase she, drove down south to Mantambe and she found a lot of Ntshangase family graves. And she was finally convinced that the body of Mzikayise Ntshangase should be buried at Mantambe area where his forefathers were buried.
The nation will recall that the body of the deceased had been kept in mortuary for five years. The loco in court relieved the Ntshangase family, who were up and down trying to make sure that one of their family was buried at a rightfully place. The state did not oppose the judgement of Mabuza because it was a straight forward and perfect judgement.
The funeral of Mzikayise Ntshangase attracted local media and foreign media because such funeral was hijacked by politicians.
The Government of Tinkhundla system was attacked left and right by politicians. The Tinkhundla system became a victim of circumstances.
Mabuza when issuing her judgement never based it on the chieftaincy disputes which resulted in the eviction of Ntshangase to Mpuluzi.
May I also thank Judge Maphalala for having represented Swaziland faithfully at COMESA Court. The recent King’s Awards given to the two judges Maphalala and Mabuza were the indication that they have both served the country faithfully. I believe Maphalala has learnt a lot while he was doing his work at COMESA. The experience he got is going to help the country in improving its judicial system, which is falling apart.
There are many things which are not going well in this country. For instance the position of National Commissioner of Police is illegal according to the Constitution of Swaziland. The establishment of such post was as good as violating the country’s constitution.
