WHY IS SRA HIRING UGANDANS

 Sir,

My concern is about the threats Dumisani Masilela constantly uses when he goes to the press concerning non- compliance of tax payments to SRA.
At the moment there is no one who is not paying tax in this country because of the introduction of 14 per cent VAT.

Even underage children pay this tax when they buy a can of soft drink or ice-cream. Our savings are taxed VAT, we pay VAT to SPTC and SEC. If you are building any structure, you need to prepare to part with the 14 per cent VAT.

There is nowhere to hide in this country in as far as taxes are concerned, so Masilela must do his work and stop threatening us because we will end up deserting Swaziland because of SRA.

What made me worried is the hiring of Ugandans as lifestyle auditors in the country. When I read this I was really disturbed because we have a pool of unemployed graduates from our university roaming the streets for jobs which are non-existent.

I believe some of them did taxation and or accounting, so why does he not think about these people rather than to go all the way to Uganda? I understand SRA is autonomous but they need to work in the interest of this country by engaging Swazis who can do similar work. How many Swazis are working for the Ugandan Government?
