LIFE IS ONE BIG FESTIVAL

Sir,

A person learns until he dies. Education has never been a bad investment, which is why the youth is always encouraged to take all opportunities presented to them with both hands.
By education, I do not mean formal education only.

Some people always beat themselves up because they failed to be a teacher, nurse, etc.
They always think that for one to be successful in life they must have some sort of a qualification in their possession.
Yes, qualifications are important but do not beat yourself up because you don’t have that diploma from SCOT.

They say formal education will earn you a living but self education will make you a fortune. Street education is as significant as formal education.
If you are not book smart, then you have to do all that is in your power to be street smart.

Education helps you to recognise all the opportunities at your disposal and utilise them. Smart people are always on the move because we all get opportunities day in and day out but it is only a limited few that recognise and utilise them. If you failed to enrol at a public university or college you still have a chance to shape your future in private colleges.

Society will talk, I know but trust me, my friend that course will contribute a lot into your future.
Attend seminars, short courses, sharpen your skills and network a lot.

When building a network go for people who will contribute positively to your life. I know that this piece should not be about me but I think my story will help a confused soul out there.

When I completed high school in 2015, like any school leaver, I thought I had nailed the exam. Everyone knew I was smart and they had great confidence in me. Come January, the results were released and guess what? I had failed and obtained only three credits. No college could touch me.
I knew deep down that I had messed up.
I had to make a plan fast.  I applied to institutions and knew I stood no chance but still I did it.
There is this university that took me in (I will not mention them because they don’t pay me to market them).

All my friends were going to university and I envied them but decided to stick to my path.
They started making jokes that I would graduate and come back to install WhatsApp for them to make ends meet.
However, in the single semester I have studied there, my mind has broadened.

I started my company and just recently nailed a big contract, built a network base and am still growing.
So, do you see that to reach the summit you have to open your eyes to opportunities?
Before I pen off, let me encourage that teenage mother or herdboy to save the little they have, to sponsor their education.
Mingle with people who are doing it for themselves; it will help.
I call that self education. Life is a festival.

Should schools give pupils money as an incentive for not getting pregnant?
