UNPREDICTABLE, RUDE PRETENDERS
Sir,
There are numerous situations one can find themselves in. For example if I come across someone who may be unaware that they or their vehicle may be in danger, I will always ensure I notify them, for I will always do unto others that which I would like done unto me. However, as many people do not expect or do not like being informed by a stranger about something their reactions are always not only unpredictable but can often be downright rude.
While driving into the city with my nephew sometime ago we noted that the vehicle in front of us had a flat tyre. I duly drove next to the vehicle and my nephew informed the driver. Without even listening to what was being said the driver automatically went into abusive mode. My nephew was very upset and said that is the reason why if he sees something awry he just minds his own business.
Upon my return I found the vehicle parked on the pavement and the driver was requesting to borrow a jack. I duly stopped and informed him that we had endeavoured to warn him but that he instantly went into a defensive and offensive mode.
As it is my motto to kill people with kindness I lent him my jack and took the opportunity there and then to inform him that not everyone was out to attack him as some of us only want the well-being and safety of another.
He was suddenly very apologetic. To me this denoted someone who always expected not only the worst but who did not trust anyone, least of all a stranger. Instead of dealing with his past, he was walking about with it letting it weigh heavily upon him thus preventing him from seeing or expecting goodness from others.
Certain people will only behave in a specific manner if they know they are being observed. Caught unaware, their true colours come to the fore. This reminded me of parents who swear that their children do no wrong ever. However, once the parents are out of sight, those children misbehave. It should always be borne in mind that children will copy what one does, not do what one says they should do.
It is common to find people throwing bottles and all sorts of litter out of their vehicles and yet if they knew they were being observed, they would pretend they never did that! Denial does not ever change what is.
Always take a moment to think, if you were to be confronted with any act perpetrated by you, would you still stand by and admit to that act? Always ensure you do that which truly reflects the true you so that upon being confronted one can still continue to feel good about self for everything done in the dark will always come out in the light. Always expect the best to happen and it will. Be nice because it makes you feel amazing! (Comments: My FB page; www.inalda.co.sz; inaldathegreat@gmail.com)
