BE AN ADULT TEENAGER

 Sir,

It’s astonishing and incredible how speedily high school life goes by. I mean you get to be excited that you are starting Form I and the next minute you look forward to the experience of being in Form IV. The next thing you are in Form V and start considering what you will wear during your prom, who will be your prom date and all that.

Having fun and breaching instructions a bit is part of being a senior in the last year of your high school. I remember that in my last year we were so tight with my former classmates. We stood together in everything, prearranged to come late in the morning. We would arrive together in one transport and walk leisurely as if we were not late; and the teachers ended up dealing with us for that. Taking walks with classmates during lunch doesn’t hurt it unites you as you share ideas, help one another emotionally and spiritually without being serious though.

You can sometimes use weekends for picnics, invite one or two teachers whom you think are cool just to free all your bottled feelings, it helps. Take as much pictures as you can, nothing feels so good than looking at those groupie selfie pictures.

Walking together as classmates is what brings the fun. Each class has pupils who are regarded as heroes, who always have jokes or something funny to say. You can even make funny videos like constructing and generating plays maybe where one pupil who wants to study law can become a lawyer in that drama play, have a judge, have numerous career plays just to practice and have a feel of what you might experience in the career you want; it can help you in learning the jargon; eg journalism jargon, law jargon and corporate jargon.

In order to enjoy your last year of high school, be an adult teenager, know work and play, it works trust me. Enjoying that last year is in you, participate in every event that takes place in your school; be everywhere, try to fit yourself in every place, that’s what builds self-confidence, one that you will need in the real world.
