MATSAPHA – Trucks, bakkies and construction equipment packed up to 100 bidders from the construction industry, raking in up to E0.5 million in the process.

This was during an auction conducted by Swazi Auctioneers on instruction of Marbel Construction (Pty) Ltd at the Matsapha Industrial Sites, Marbel Complex past CTM.

Auctioneer Sakhile Ndzimandze manned the auction, where almost all vehicles that went under the hammer were in good running condition. As earlier promised by Ndzimandze prior to the actual sale, the sold vehicles had a good service history and good maintenance records, which made them a viable buy when taking into consideration their low reserve prices.

Some of the vehicles auctioned included, but not limited to; Isuzu 260 LE bakkies, which were sold for E29 000 and E41 000, an F6000 six cubic tipper truck, which was sold for E88 000 from a reserve price of E75 000 and a Toyota Hino KR eight ton flat truck (non-runner), which went under the hammer for E31 000 from a reserve price of E30 000.

Bidders who participated at the auction were made to pay a refundable deposit of E3 000, payable upon registration and five per cent buyers’ premium. Strictly cash, bank guarantee or EFT payments were accepted.

All bidders were given a fair chance to get full details of items on offer during a viewing exercise, conducted last Friday and Saturday, between 9am and 4pm.

The auction, which had been slated to start at 10 am, lasted for about an hour.
Some of the construction equipment which was also auctioned included cobra basin taps, stainless steel basins, brick cutters, welder generator, concrete vibrating poker, timber benderings, brand new shower trays, new door frames, plumbing equipment and white powder aluminium quoted windows.
