THE HEART OF 2019

Sir,

Our bodies are made up of five organs essential for survival; these are the heart, lungs, brain, kidneys and liver. However, for this letter I will focus on the heart. According to the Oxford dictionary, the heart is a part of the body where feelings and emotions are thought to be, especially those connected with love. Whatever we feel, we go through or happens to us, it is all felt in our hearts.

The month of February is the second and shortest month of the year. I choose to paint it as the heart of the year.
A month the world celebrates love. Love is a strong feeling of deep affection for somebody or something. We share love generated in our hearts with our families, friends and loved ones.

Emotions

These are people we spend the most part of our lives with; people who know and understand us; people who take care of us when our emotions run wild.
So why love? Let us love one another for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God (1 John 4:7). It is through His love we live today, who we are and we are able to make choices for our lives. Love brings us satisfaction, comfort, closure, exaltation and success.

First find love within one self; accept and find peace with yourself, where you come from, where you are at, and work your path to your ideal self. If you truly love and respect yourself and you always do what is in your best interest, it becomes easy for other people to respect and love you the way you deserve.

Love

Then find love with what you do; your work may not be your most perfect one but it is the only job you are doing right now.
Take it as the only good thing you have; your main source of income; and your way to that ideal job. If you are a pupil, your schoolwork should be your responsibility.

Do assignments accordingly and always submit on time, and seek help whenever necessary. Always be on time for school or work, do your best and work beyond your limitations.
Love goes a long way, from loving ourselves and what we do, to loving our surroundings. Wherever you are at or go, always know your surroundings.

Know how to present yourself in an acceptable manner and ensure you keep it safe and healthy for others to use it.

Clean

As emaSwati, no one can keep our nation clean and safe if we don’t. The beauty of our kingdom needs us to  always think and decide carefully on everything we do; before you throw away that trash, commit those illegal activities and hurt that fellow being, ask yourself if it shows love to the next person.
Let us not lose ourselves and worth chasing and begging for people to love us.

That kind of desperation can only bring unbearable sadness. No one can love, respect and take care of you better than yourself.
Create your own happiness and find the right people to share it with. Wish all emaSwati a Happy Valentine’s month.
