GOVT BRUTALITY CONTINUES

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

The Bible says; “Thou shall know them by their fruits.” It also speaks about ‘shepherds that fed on the carcasses of their own folk’. No matter how this government tries to make it look like it has won, or it’s not a big deal, no matter how they ignore and brush it under the carpet, the suffering and brutality will not go away.

No matter how many meetings, in a blaze of publicity and in a desperate attempt to prove that government has men and women of God, the bloated flies that customarily trail filth, garbage, open sewers and rejected goods will continue to follow them and raise fundamental questions about their juvenile claim of holiness, flawlessness and sainthoods.
When we speak of men of God, we are referring to selfless men; men who lift up and inspire others. Men who are filled with compassion and love, men who are called to govern by their living God. These are men who are driven by the quest for righteousness, justice and equity.

These are men who despise evil, wickedness and injustice; and who support and assist the suffering, poor, the despised and the vulnerable. Jesus protected the wounded, poor and the afflicted. He spread truth to power and gave wicked rulers and heartless men of wealth and power sleepless nights.

Special

When we speak of men of God, we are talking about a rare and special breed of people who are committed to humanity, self-disciplined and spreading the Word of God wherever they are. When we are talking about men of God, we are not talking about hopelessly compromised and morally challenged charlatans and crooked politicians who consistently attempt to defend the indefensible, who thrive on treachery and falsehood; who tell a lot of lies, who indulge in the most courageous and brazen acts of dealing with innocent workers who are demanding what is rightfully theirs. Men who encourage the perpetuation and commission of barbarity and wickedness are never men of God. Men who collude with evil, men who turn a blind eye to the suffering of the people are not Godly.

When we talk about men of God, we are talking about those we admire, love and respect and not those who are men and women of God by name.
