LET’S RISE UP AGAINST THIS EVIL

Sir,

When radical Islamists are said to have killed many people simply because the victims were Christians, we curse and condemn them harshly and rightly so.
People or readers of this column will also clearly and vividly remember how I reacted to the recent massacre of Muslims in Christchurch, New Zealand; when a white racist killed scores of them while they were praying in their Mosques. I did so because to me, injustice remains injustice and bad, regardless of who is pushing it and the reasons for pushing it.

Since the death of the first democratically elected President of Egypt on Monday, and looking at the reasons he was dethroned through an illegal military coup, which was never at all condemned by those nations of the West, which we had always held high as democratic nations.

Thousands of innocent Egyptians, a majority members of his political party; the Muslim Brotherhood, have been illegally executed without due process having been followed, and the so-called democratic Western countries said nothing about it, because to them, the life of a Muslims are disposable, as they are less human than their Israeli fellow citizens! Such is the hypocrisy of the West when it comes to people they do not agree with, either politically or religiously.

Egypt is a largely Muslim country, with few Christians and that raises the question: why kill the other Muslims if you are a Muslim country?” Watching and listening to the interview he had with CNN host Christiane Amanpour, on Tuesday after he won the elections in 2012, I could not understand why his government, had to be removed.

justification

What surprised me was his answer to this question: “Are you going to promote Islamists now that your Party has won the elections?” Here was his answer:” No! Not at all; because I now represent all Egyptians and not only members of my Party! I am the servant of all my fellow Egyptians.”

Having looked at the Quran, if I was to find justification for executing people, simply because the State did not agree with their political view point, I found nothing. When I then moved onto the Bible, I also found nothing which could justify what the Egyptian Government has done, and continues to do.

And so long as we remain quiet, simply because we are fed with the lie that these victims are “terrorists as well as Anti- Christianity,” I strongly reject this rubbish. Never mind that leaders such as Donald Trump, Angel Merkel and France’s Macron have not found any reasons to condemn Egypt’s illegal doing. As an African political patriot who, together with many of my peers, I shall never condone such murderous dictatorships which now characterises our continent.  We did not just fought for Eswatini’s freedom only; but we fought for a free continent of Africa!

Once again, I want to call upon all peace loving Africans to join me and others in campaigning against the illegal military dictatorship in Egypt, in all possible means we can muster, until the democratic world hears our calls. Please let us rise up against this evil!

Could those who are privileged to rule over us stop dispossessing us of the little we work so hard for in order to support our families, as well as our human freedoms? Could our God save us from these cruel dictatorships and murderers and looters?
Yours in deep sorrow for the Egyptian people who currently face illegal executions.

 Amen.
