WE’RE ALL EXCEPTIONAL BEINGS

Sir,

Grab a chair, join a group of weird people and have a little chat with them. Say hi to the lone wolves; when those strangers smile at you as you pass them by in town, smile back; listen to music with a stranger in the bus; say hi to someone who never says hi to you; you’ll be surprised to find out just how many people needed just one act of kindness for their wounds to heal and for their deep scars to finally fade . . . I am because you are.
Let us not allow ourselves to be too quick to judge the next person without even getting to know them.

Storm

Maya Angelou once said; “Each one of us has lived through some devastation, some loneliness, some weather super storm or spiritual super storm.
When we look at each other we must say I understand, I understand because I have been there myself. We must support each other because each of us is more alike than we are unalike.”

Judge

Truth is, we tend to judge each other by how we dress, walk, talk, how pretty we look, how thin we are, the list goes on forever, really.
We focus on that which draws us away from each other; and the more we judge, the farther apart we stand. We forget how we are all different, express ourselves differently in the way we style our hair, through these covers we have on – Lord knows we all have our reasons.

Some of us were not always mean; some were not always cry-babies; some were not always wild children . . . we have walked through certain towns and alleys that have gotten us to swerve into these mad hatters we have now become; we have been soaked in so much hate, pain, etc. we now carry around, bad-impression stenches.
We’ve fought and are still fighting legions. And when we meet our unlikely angels who smile at us and remind us that at the end of the line, awaits another side.

Angels

That we matter; that we have a place in the world. These unlikely angels who smile at us as they walk past us in the subway and just like onions, our layers peel off and the true, beautiful, free-spirited, sweet selves are exposed.
And we realise just how rare, different and extraordinary we all are.
