THERE IS NO DIVISION IN SWADNU

Sir,

Following a sequence of what I call ‘bias and misreporting’, because it lacks facts and balance of storytelling on the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union (SWADNU) as told by a particular journalist.
As a member of this powerful organisation, I am tempted to say something. In my view, the story suffers from lack of facts and imbalanced because the journalist only satisfied himself by getting one side of the story from the aggrieved and power hungry complainant.

The organisation has an intact top leadership referred to as the National Office Bearers (NOB), which I had at least expected the reporter to contact  office for balancing of issues. Little did I know that I expected too much as these poor reports continued from Monday to Tuesday.

Expecting

I was, at the least expecting a statement by the reporter which states that: ‘I called the nurses President Mr B. Mamba or the General Secretary Mr S. Lushaba unfortunately their phone rang unanswered or they were offline’.
To me this is fundamental ethical and professional reporting if I may call it. To some extent the unbiased journo would even state that they even texted that particular person. Honestly, this reporting on the union issue is consistently of mediocre standard.

Remain

The nurses’ organisation remains intact and in good health functional status. The court processes are not a surprised to us members because we know individuals who lack majority support out of desperation for positions usually seek court redress.
Too bad for them because courts will not decide on organisational decisions, they will only advise both parties to go back to their respective structures and try find each other.
This individual suffers from myopic disease secondary to inability to advance their arguments/beliefs inside the meeting.

SWADNU meeting is no room for chancers and empty statements, but critical thinking is required there.
Why do they avoid going into the correct platforms and convince the meeting about their beliefs, it’s simply because they know that they are empty vessels and shamefully weak in meeting debates. They cannot even convince themselves into acting right.
After all the court processes they will come back to the members (angry members this time) and expect to argue their beliefs.  The organisation remains a democratically functional status.

Furthermore, Comrade Sibusiso Lushaba remains a great leader, and is respected among nurses and beyond by other sister organisations because of his servant leadership qualities. These cowards are only trying ‘character assassination’ to him because they are no match to his leadership skills.
