AS WE ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS

Sir,

“The most difficult journey is the journey we never dare to begin,” once said philosopher Tony Robbins. This, according to my understanding, means we most often than not talk and sometimes shout hysterically about endeavours we fail to accomplish merely by assuming they are ‘too difficult’. Nonetheless, the veracity of the matter lies on the fact that the prime thing one can do is to fail after having tried. The bread and butter issue that has made this convergence of my pen and paper is the fact that it is already Christmas time.

Mistakes

Most of the mistakes done in the past will be recurring again for others, more especially those who are afraid of change. The past has a tendency of repeating itself, therefore as the mistakes reappear, they accumulate into a habit while in the process they make some people to love whiners popularly known for ducking their responsibility. To exemplify this matter on hand, we have records of people busted for drinking-driving just in the previous year. Trust me with this, the same people will be busted again for the same reason simply because they do not want to change. Is that not stupidity?

Rebuke

I wonder how and why one seats behind the steering wheel knowing exactly well that they had been imbibing alcohol. Let me lambast and rebuke this soul-wrecking act with enormous chastisement; it is wrong and forbidden from every sphere that it may come from. Holidays are meant to be enjoyed by self, reuniting with family members or our beloved ones. Most of all, they are for resting and refreshing from the long tiresome and hectic year especially this year. What an abhorrent year it was! We deserve far much better. We need to take care of the poor living in our midst, the orphaned and vulnerable children. They all deserve better.
