ATTACKED BY TWAIN ENEMIES

Sir,

“If the misery of the poor is caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, great is our sin,” wrote Charles Darwin. I strongly believe that a majority of us now understand that as human kind we are in a battle; we are being ambushed by twain enemies. The earth has become a battlefield and no one can foretell the future. These twain foes are the invisible ones and the visible ones. The visible ones include poverty and the invisible ones include COVID-19.  They are both harvesting human beings at a large scale even though they are not given commensurate resources and energy but they have complementary ramification in the universe.

Poverty

Poverty has been slaughtering people since the beginning of capitalism. No one is talking about it because it is a class struggle. It doesn’t fight those who have access to natural resources; it is not in the mind of the bourgeoisie. The ones who control the means of production make profits from the atrocities of poverty. Poverty has been fortified by people. Famine kills those in the streets, rural areas and dumping sites, those who have become scavengers in their countries of origin.

Exploited

Poverty kills the proletarians; it is survival of the fittest. The ruling elite have exploited the proletarians so much that now the poor are dismally failing to afford basic necessities. Hunger is killing them like flies and nobody cares.  However, when it comes to COVID-19, it is not survival of the fittest. COVID-19 is attacking both the proletarians and the bourgeoisie. We are all going to survive through the grace of the one who is above everything. The virus doesn’t end in the streets but it goes even to houses of the ruling class. That’s why news of it is all over the media and more resources are being reallocated into fighting this invisible enemy.
