WHY MEN ARE THREATENED BY GENDER EQUALITY

Sir,

I am for the idea that women should be treated the same way as men in every place they step into. To be precise, I love women who take up space and do the most, leaving anti-feminists in disbelief. It excites me to watch women, undermined by many, make it in all industries and take positions that were only reserved for men in previous years. Women have proven that the world was making a huge mistake by taking them as nothing more than children-bearers, thus making us realise that if they were recognised earlier, the world would be much better than it is now.

However, it is excruciatingly disappointing to learn that some women manipulate this beautiful idea and do things that make the skin cringe. Some have become immoral opportunists, abusers and disrespectful members of society. This is where I am headed. Men should obviously feel a certain kind of way about gender equality. Even though it is not all the queens who turn into such, men are now uneasy because of women making it to the top.

Men often vouch for their wives, mothers, sisters and other female relatives for them to reach the peak. Men are then traumatised, abused, humiliated and oppressed by the very same women. This is similar to an instance of a constituency whose Member of Parliament has abandoned them after winning the elections. When men are supposed to support women they feel as though they are gambling. This is because women in power have the potential of pleasing the world while they are their families’ source of pain.

Terror-struck

It is actually a norm that united families start falling apart once an individual starts making it, be it a male or female. Men are also terror-struck by the fact that once women become successful, they start prioritising work over family. If you know men very well, you should be aware that family comes first to them. To add on that, some women then fail to adhere to certain commitments, agreements and rules of their families. This is where opportunism comes in. These women tend to use their workplace status to boss everyone around, which is not a good thing at all.

Members of the family are then forced to bow to her since she is the one bringing in more revenue. This brings us to a conclusion that gender equality is not just a kick in the stomach for men, but also to all genders. With that said, am I saying that gender equality was a wrong idea and should be renounced? Absolutely not! In as much as there are egocentric women, we shall not turn a blind eye on the fact that there are numerous resolute women who have pure intentions and they actually work like horses to better the world in all aspects.

My advice to all my fellow men out there is that let us keep up the good work of encouraging and supporting women while we make sure that we apply the same energy into marking our presence in society. My advice to the ladies is that there is nothing as appealing as a successful woman who values other people’s feelings and opinions, rich or poor, learned or unlearned. Do not be a caricature of a boss lady that is unacquainted to respecting other people.
