SILENCE A POWERFUL TOOL

Sir,

We live in a world where information is currency and the value of information dictates our social and professional worth. We are incessantly asked to share what we do and to define ourselves by our occupations and achievements. However, there is a profound wisdom in the art of withholding. There is a power in the ability to achieve without the necessity of announcing it to the world. This is the philosophy of never telling people what you do.

Doctrine

This is not a doctrine of secrecy, but rather a principle of strategic silence. It is about understanding the profound impact of letting your actions speak louder than your words. It is a way of allowing your works to be a testament to your capabilities without the need of constant verbal validation. Silence is a powerful tool. It is a statement without words and assertion with noise in a world that is perpetually loud in which everyone is vying for attention. The act of remaining silent about your endeavours can be immensely impactful.  It creates an aura of mystery around you which in turn commands respect and curiosity. When you chose to disclose what you do, you are basically allowing you actions to be your voice. This is a principle deeply rooted in wisdom. Silence can be more eloquent than words. It can convey confidence and strength.

Creates

People are naturally curious. When you do not divulge every detail of your professional life it creates an air of mystery around you. This entry can be incredibly beneficial. It draws people towards you and makes them interested in you. Disrespect is earned through the perception of confidence. Refraining from talking about what you do conveys that you are secure in your abilities. You do not need to seek approval and validation from others because you are self-assured. In contrast, constantly telling people what you do can come across as insecure.
As if you need to prove your worth through your words rather than your works.

Value

Overexposure can lead to a delusion of your perceived value. When people constantly access your work it loses its impact. Also, giving information about yourself creates a cloud of expectations and some you cannot meet. Therefore, real ‘Gs’ move silence like the ‘G’ in lasagna.
