‘STOP TAKING US FOR FOOLS’

It is with great concern and frustration that I write this letter, as many of us in Eswatini are growing tired of being taken for fools by PUDEMO. This movement, which claims to fight for the people, has proven time and again that it is more interested in sacrificing emaSwati for personal gain than in pursuing genuine progress for the nation.

Assassination

The assassination of Thulani Maseko remains fresh in our minds, and the painful truth is that his death appears to have been orchestrated to serve PUDEMO’s political narrative. Thulani was a respected advocate for human rights, yet his life was cut short in what seems to be another example of PUDEMO’s internal betrayals. The tragic irony is that those responsible for his murder were likely the very people who should have stood by him. His death has become a tool in their hands, used to stir outrage and shift blame, all for the purpose of sustaining a so-called ‘struggle’ that is increasingly losing relevance.

This brings me to the recent reported alleged poisoning of Mlungisi Makhanya, inside his own home. How is it that someone was able to infiltrate his house? The answer seems all too clear: The betrayal likely came from within, from the so-called comrades. The question we must all ask is: how could anyone outside his circle of supposed allies have gained such access? This incident comes at a suspicious time, just as the ‘struggle’ is fading in relevance, and coincidentally as the self-styled progressives are gearing up for a gathering under the guise of a ‘prayer meeting’, led by none other than Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane, set for KaMhlushwa on October 2.

Desperate

It is no secret that PUDEMO and its supporters are desperate to remain relevant. When the winds of change began to blow against them, rather than seek honest dialogue or peaceful resolution, they resorted to the only tactic they seem to know- creating martyrs. This alleged poisoning is not an isolated act of violence but a calculated move to reignite a dying course. And while they claim to represent the will of the people, it is becoming increasingly clear that their real objective is personal gain, no matter how many innocent emaSwati are sacrificed along the way. We, the people of Eswatini, deserve better. We deserve leaders who prioritise peace and prosperity, not those who manipulate tragedies to maintain a hold on power. PUDEMO has long abandoned its mandate of championing the people’s course but instead thrives on chaos, treachery, and violence.

Agenda

The so-called progressives, now rallying around figures like Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane, continue to push their agenda, but we are not fooled. We see through their actions and understand that the real objective of these gatherings is not prayer or unity, but a continued attempt to divide and destabilise our nation. The timing of this supposed ‘prayer meeting’ speaks volumes, especially in light of the events surrounding Mlungisi Makhanya.

It is time we, as emaSwati, rise up and demand accountability from these so-called leaders. We cannot allow PUDEMO and its allies to continue sacrificing our people for their personal ambitions. Eswatini’s future lies in unity, dialogue, and peace, not in the betrayal and deaths of those who are manipulated to further a fading political agenda. We will no longer be deceived, and we refuse to be taken for fools by PUDEMO.
