PROLONGED UNESWA CLOSURE
Sir,
As a final-year student at the University of Eswatini, I am reaching out on behalf of my peers to express our deep concerns regarding the prolonged closure of our university.
Since 2020, we have dedicated ourselves to our studies, yet the ongoing disruption has left us in a state of uncertainty regarding our academic future. The extended closure has significantly impacted our education, forcing us to return home without a clear timeline for our return. This situation has not only hindered our academic progress, but has also diminished the quality of our educational experience and professional development opportunities.
Access
As passionate learners, we are eager to continue our studies and achieve our academic goals, but the lack of access to courses and resources is stifling our efforts. Adding to our frustration is the disparity in campus operations; while one campus continues to function normally, others remain closed. This inconsistency creates an unfair division among students who are all striving for the same educational outcomes. We believe that every student deserves equal access to quality education, and the current situation undermines this principle. We respectfully urge the university’s leadership and the relevant authorities to prioritise the reopening of all campuses.
We understand that the decisions made regarding campus closures may have been necessary for various reasons, but we firmly believe that there are solutions that can allow us to return to our studies safely. Education is not just a right; it is the cornerstone of our future. With the ongoing challenges we have faced in recent years, any further delays risk compromising our ambitions and aspirations.
Message
Time is of the essence, and we are eager to resume our education and prepare for our careers. We hope that this message resonates and encourages prompt action. By working together, we can ensure that education remains accessible and uninterrupted for all students at the University of Eswatini. Thank you for your attention to this pressing matter. We look forward to your support and a positive resolution.
