DON’T GIVE BAIL TO RAPE-ACCUSED PERSONS
May I raise concern about the tendency to give bail to people who are accused of rape.
How many cases have been reported in 2024 and accused persons were afforded bail? I still believe that God’s intervention will be the only solution to this national scourge. Everyone must admit that we need help in our communities. Some survivors are raped by their family members who include fathers, step fathers and uncles, while their biological mothers are away. Real fathers do not rape. Let us address these issues in a professional way in Eswatini.
Why are accused persons afforded bail in Eswatini? Communities must not keep quiet about this issue of rapists. Some are being admitted to bail with amounts as little as E3 000. What about the future of the child. Rape is now indzaba yetfu sonkhe. We cannot keep rapists in our communities, otherwise some people will take the law into their own hands.
Burn rapists
In South Africa they have already started to burn rapists. Who will you blame if the same situation prevails in Eswatini. We need awareness campaigns. Everyone will agree with me that rape in Eswatini has become a real problem. It is also increasing the HIV/AIDS infection rate, so the rapists must be taught a good lesson.
How many young children should be raped until our government responds. Why are we letting them back into society when they have dented lives? Are we saying ‘thank you’ to what they have done? There is no compensation fitting for the survivor. The church must stand with the nation in prayer, as we are faced with major challenges.
I challenge football supporters to also stand up and speak against this issue. A normal person cannot rape his daughter. We cannot disobey the law with impunity as it is happening. EmaSwati must understand the value of the Constitution so they can obey it.
