DEVELOPMENT, PEACE UNDER TINKHUNDLA

Sir,

I am writing this letter to express the gratitude of our Tinkhundla System of Government.

In general, Tinkhundla stimulates community development at the grassroots level, coordinating and promoting a good relationship between government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working at the Tinkhundla level.

They further provide a link between communities and government as well as other development agents to ensure the responsiveness of all national policies to the needs of the people.

Create

In the process, they create harmony among all agents, providing services within that inkhundla. Tinkhundla is a system that never discriminates; regardless of who you are and your circumstances, you are eligible to vote and to be voted for.

The roots of the system are the chiefdoms; where those who still know their mandate promote peace for the rural areas.

There are few political misunderstandings within the system that may lead to violence and fighting, unlike when there is involvement of political parties. Recently, our system has been able to show the citizens its beautiful part and it is now being taught to other countries. Tinkhundla promotes transparency and public accountability and also promotes a high quality of life.

Believe

So as for now, I strongly believe that the Tinkhundla System of Government is the best government in the Southern Afrrican Development Community (SADC) region because it showcases the peace in our country and our beautiful culture. Recently, we had the Buganu Festival which attracts guests from different parts of the world; our country benefits a lot from this festival because many people come to the country to spend the whole weekend, and many businesses benefit from this occasion.

We do not want political parties because they do not promote peace; instead they encourage strife that can damage our economy. Our Majesty the King launched the ‘nkwe’! mandate this year and we have seen jobs for the youth being created, which is a good move. EmaSwati must stick together and not support the influence of political parties; it is not good for the future or our growing children.
