I DIDN'T KILL HIM

Sir,

I struggled to contain my tears running uncontrollably down my cheeks as I came across the #IDidn’tKillHim challenge making rounds on all social media platforms in the past months.

The comment sections pierced my heart like a sharpened sword. As women we have endured a great deal, hear us out.

Our partners, people meant to love and protect us are killing us like it’s the easiest thing to do.

The Sibusiso Lawrence matter has opened a can of worms, where emotions are concerned.

Upset

He stated his reasons for brutally murdering his partner in cold blood, which had no justification whatsoever other than feeling upset over everything he allegedly did for her.

Weren’t all those sacrifices made out of love? Then why should they be a cause of death between lovers?

We might be motherly about a lot as ladies, but without a shadow of doubt men have subdued us to a lot of pain and ridicule in the name of being in a relationship, yet we don’t kill them.

The truth is; there are ladies who have sacrificed a lot for their partners from buying them cars, gifts, getting them jobs, paying their tuition fees and buying their wardrobe, just to name a few.

We have been cheated on, abused, trampled on and abandoned for someone else.

Blood

However, we rarely ever opt to spill blood. Why must men’s cases be different? Is it because we choose to deal with defeat differently? Hear us out!

Accepting defeat is not a sign of cowardice, even a good dancer knows when to leave the stage.  When a partnership is no longer serving the initial purpose; love yourself enough to walk away.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
