Highlanders’ family - everything happens for a reason

Sir,

While still mourning the fall of the mighty Mbabane Highlanders F.C. from football glory it might, of course, come as a relief that at least there is a sudden turn of events that may lead to its hasty come back.

This is a clear indication that everything happens for a reason.
And seemingly those presently trying to resist the team’s relegation to first division are only doing that out of divided loyalty to the team if not for political gain. Otherwise from the look of things the team needs a fresh start that will enhance its stability and ability to stand the test of the times ahead. Presently the available structures are quite commendable and laudable.

Aspirations

The mere fact that the team has been placed under a former player and astute business man whose wishes and aspirations are to earn public recognition to bring back the glamour associated with the name of the team is just enough inspirational drive for honours and success.
At the same time their nemesis’ achievement in Mbabane Swallows FC under the tutelage of a former player also comes in handy as a crucial challenge for a similar feat and show of prowess.

For sure the rivalry between the two teams may also turn to be for supremacy than enmity, which may be good for football as a whole in the country since both Highlanders and Swallows directors know very well that nowadays football is run along business corridors of power that emphasise marketing strategies that enhance profits and friendly atmospheres for the good of the sport.

Needless to say Highlanders need to change their logo for it does not conform to their much publicised motto of the black bull inkunzi; the fact of the matter is that the bird (eagle) symbol on their logo demeans the black bull status hence a clash of interest from the animal gods. So if the name Highlander means the eagle then let them be known as ukhozi olumnyama ngenkani, oludla amazinyane or  ingculungculu ezibetha amaphiko.
