People paid tax even in the Bible
Sir,
The men of the cloth, I mean pastors, have been in the news complaining about taxation by the Swaziland Revenue Authority.
I’ve been wondering why they would complain about this because even in biblical times there were tax collectors for instance an ancient man by the name of Zacheus.
I believe it is important that pastors pay their dues so that they could stop living luxurious lifestyles as if they were greedy politicians yet they are supposed to be men of God who preach the gospel of Jesus.
Taxation
Apart from this Jesus once said ‘give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar’ and I believe they should give to government what belongs to government.
Taxation is not evil, so they must not claim that God is being taxed here. Are orphans and widows being taken care of by the churches’ offerings?
I guess these offerings go into their pockets. Why can’t church leaders give it to the poor to get God’s blessings? Money should not be everything.
These pastors should be seen to be men of God through their deeds and they surely can start by giving to the poor. These men have so much money so I do not understand why they are not willing to give some away.
I also smell a rat, some of these church leaders give money to their girlfriends and I have enough evidence to support my allegation. I do not mean to embarrass some people here.
I repeat, taxation is not evil! I am also curious to know if pastors divorce their wives to avoid paying tax.
There is also another issue that has been puzzling me.
Pastors for a long time have been talking or preaching about the coming of the ‘New Kingdom’ but unfortunately they do not go into detail as to how it shall land.
Backdoor
So for the sake of the general public, I want to give them a clue as I believe it shall come through the backdoor or in stages.
The first stage has already happened. People may take this for granted but when we heralded the new millennium it was fulfilling a prophecy.
The second stage was reflected in the popular usage of the words ‘peace’ and ‘security’. This is confirmed in the book of I Thessalo-nians 5:3.
Stage three was the coming of a new word called ‘silence’ and this is confirmed in the book of Revelations 8:1.
The completion of the coming of the new kingdom shall only begin or end when all the words mentioned above have been manifested one by one as confirmed by the scriptures.
