MPS ALL TALK BUT NO ACTION

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

For time immemorial talking has been the easiest action a politician can take and as such it comes as no surprise that some MPs raised and deliberated upon the issue of elderly grants in Parliament.

Truly speaking, their action is duly commendable but what matters most is implementation.
Life is an irony and people must not read much into what is usually said as what happens after then leaves a lot to be desired.
Politics is a dirty game and action is not synonymous with politicking.

Analytically, this is one of the best Parliaments we have had as there are vocal people in the mix and as you have said Mr Editor that it should not end there but they must ensure that what they raise is deliberated upon and then addressed to finality.
As for the top-ups sir, the headmasters have made their statement heard, the top-up fees issue belittles democracy! If schools survived before even if parents failed to pay so what’s the hullabaloo now?

Auditors must audit schools twice yearly to ensure government money is channelled to what that school budget entails than inflating some people’s bank accounts. If government had done a thorough survey maybe this top-up issue would not be such a headache that is turning into a migraine.
Let’s wait and see what really this 10th Parliament has to offer the populace.

Slow

Should schools give pupils money as an incentive for not getting pregnant?
