QALAKALIBOLI’S XMAS MUMBO JUMBO

Sir

I am an avid reader of some of the articles the Times of Swaziland SUNDAY columnists write.
I used to be disheartened by the way Qalakaliboli pompously portrayed himself as a good writer and researcher. The worst thing is how he sarcastically wrote and insulted other writers.
He certainly has to know one thing: beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

It is very unfortunate that he is on a laissez-faire attitude when he is advised and takes it as criticism.
He probably is the only one who can give me the name of someone who does not want to take advice; it cannot be me, lest I join this fray.
He surely needs to know that it is superfluously annoying to other people to beat your own drum.
Moreso, it does not portray him as a God-fearing Christian.

May it be succinctly clear to everyone that the best these publications are for, is to share ideas and maybe score a few points.
They are not for insulting and derogating other people.

May I thank and congratulate Pastor Dan Mdluli (I do not personally know this gentleman) for his article of January 12, 2014.
Despite what Qalakaliboli wrote about him in the Times SUNDAY dated January 5, 2014, he showed to be a mature and really God-fearing Christian.
To cap it all, the story by Alvin Reid exactly describes the person of Qalakaliboli’s calibre.
He certainly is one person who blows hot and cold.

If one is not of a stable mind, one could find oneself so confused that one could find a whale in a desert. In his January 5, 2014 article, he said it did not need one to read volumes of books but just a click of a button to get information, whereas he goes on to read the Bible, Greek literature and tries tediously to decipher words from the Greek dictionary.
Then you ask yourself what type of person this is.

I pity the gullible, ignorant people who believed the mumbo jumbo he said to have researched.
I do not think they could understand a book by Shakespeare (courtesy of the Tinkhundla education system). On the issue of Christmas, he will only mislead the innocent ignorant few.
Here he says he was researching on the day of the birth of Christ.

To us who know what research is, we would say he was only researching on the day of December 25, as to when it was used and what for and not the birth date of Christ.
If it had been research about the day, he would have finally come up with scripture or literature that spells out that Christ was born on this day.
I am not a guru on these issues but it does not take a rocket scientist like him to estimate when Jesus Christ was born.

I can only say it only needs a Form III pupil who did their Geography well, can think rationally and can read their Bible.
It is a known fact that in those days or even to this day, shepherds used to take their flock to the field in summer and watch over them until the fall of winter.
In winter, they were brought back to the fold to keep away from the frosty weather.

It is a known fact that when it is in the middle of summer in the southern hemisphere, it is the middle of winter in the northern hemisphere.
So, on December 25, it is midsummer in Swaziland and midwinter in Israel.

Insane

No sane or even insane Israelite would go out to the field in winter.
It is succinctly spelt out in Luke 2:8 that when an angel approached the shepherds, they were in the fields. In winter, Mary could not have wrapped/bound the child with strips/bands (depending on your Bible version) of cloth, he could have been dressed with warmer clothing (Luke 2:7).
In winter, no child could survive in a manger and no one could survive in a stable.

So, it stands to reason that the time of the birth of Christ is around the winter months in the southern hemisphere and totally not on December 25.
It is a fact that ever since Satan started on his mission, he has never stopped and will never stop until the Lord Jesus comes back to stop him.
Ever since he was thrown onto earth, he has been at work and harder these, last days.

He certainly has his Pharisees, prophets, pastors and angels.
They are well-educated and very convincing.
Many of us will be thrown in between the deep blue sea and the horns of a dilemma trying to find the truth while we come across such ‘clever’ and ‘good’ writers.
Remember even in the day of old, Pharisees were there and as educated as today’s.
They even got to an extent of challenging the religious authority Himself about His father’s commandments.

When he answered back, they would shy away and leave without saying a word of apology on their wrong teachings. They did not even say goodbye.
Brethren, we beseech you to keep guiding us from such hypocrites and today’s Pharisees.
It is better to know that you do not know than not to know that you do not know.

Lately, I thought I had found my footing, only to see an emergence of people eating grass in the name of spirits.
I so disappointedly realised that each time God creates a bee to make honey for his person, the devil enthusiastically creates a green fly to spoil the honey.
Around the 1970s, I used to be in contact with a church/organisation known as The Plain Truth, with which I eventually lost contact.
For further information, if anyone can click the button and find us their contacts, I would be happy to be furnished with them.

Here, one would get the whole truth about the origins of Christmas Day, Father Christmas, the mistletoe, the rain deer, the issue of the gifts, the origins of why we go to church on Sunday against God’s commandment, the 13-month Jewish calendar (as compared to the 13-month original Swazi calendar with Mavungulamite as the last month), the original Easter calendar and may more answers we have questions on. May respect and peace be with you.
