LET’S MOVE WITH THE TIMES
Sir,
It’s nothing much, but it’s so painful because the leaders of the future are being made the beggars of the future! Why I say so is because of the slow and at times non-existent actions against major changes like climate change.
Now that we know that there are no longer four seasons in the year, why doesn’t our respected government change the way they support the people, especially agriculture-wise?
Why don’t they check the soil for the people, teach them about new things which the people can now plant and what they should not plant. Fertiliser prices and other farming equipment costs should be reduced and we should quit importing fruits and vegetables and even maize, which we call our staple food!
Many youth are not employed, so why don’t we try things like workshops to teach them farming, then give them the equipment as well as local markets and then put a high tax on any imported agricultural products. Why don’t we use our soil before it swallows us through hunger and poverty? Please, Mr Minister of Agriculture, try to be different from the others before you.
