ANGRY POLITICIAN INSULTS GELANE’S INNER COUNCIL
MBABANE – A politician has been reported to the police for allegedly insulting Kontshingila Acting Chief Gelane Zwane’s inner council.
On Saturday the politician appeared before the KaGwegwe inner council to conclude an ongoing matter that involves him and his extended family.
The politician is alleged to have kicked on relatives out of a compound that the families jointly occupied.
The dispute dates back to the 80s when their father died.
A relative who was part of those to witness the incident confirmed the matter during a recorded interview.
He said on Saturday they were called to the KaGwegwe inner council to finalise a pending land dispute matter wherein the inner council ruled against the politician.
He said the inner council told the politician to allow the children to occupy the homestead.
This, he said, did not go down well with their uncle, who is said to have intervened even before the inner council concluded their judgment.
“We were all taken aback by his reaction during the meeting.
“He vented his anger towards us and the KaGwegwe inner council after they had pronounced their judgment and ruled in our favour.
He hurled insults at everyone present and promised that there would be bloodshed.
“The elders and members of the inner council tried to reason with him, but in vain as he made it clear he didn’t want us back at the property” he said.
He also said that all the politician’s insults and threats were recorded.
