CJ’S HOUSE HAS AN ARMOURED BUNKER
MBABANE – The Chief Justice, Micheal Ramodibedi’s house is said to be designed with an armoured bunker in which he can hide should the police storm into his house.
The bunker is said to be virtually indestructible with ordinary weapons as it is meant to protect the judge in case of an emergency.
An armoured bunker is a secure secret room that a person can use to hide should there be an attack.
Bunkers are known to withstand bomb blasts during military attacks.
It is believed that should the police forcefully enter the house, the CJ may move into the bunker where it may be extremely difficult for the police to apprehend him.
Certain bunkers are designed to operate manually and can only be opened by the person who is locked inside, while automatic ones may be disengaged from a remote access.
It could not be established which type of bunker the CJ’s residence has.
The CJ’s house is designed like a citadel to ensure that the honourable judge remained safe while executing his duties.
Bunkers are also known to contain escape routes but this is not to suggest that the one at the CJ’s house has this facility.
When asked if police were aware that the CJ’s house has a bunker, Assistant Superintendent Khulani Mamba, Police Information and Communications Officer, responded to the affirmative.
He, however, mentioned that he didn’t want to comment much on the issue because it borders on security issues.
