MBABANE – Themba Dlamini, widely known as ‘Mabhi’ on SABC 1 popular drama series Mthunzini.Com was born and bred in Swazi-land.

Dlamini, along with fellow actor Percy Ingle who plays the role of Sizwe Bhembe, were in the country over the weekend for the Scara Thindwa Foundation Dinner at the Royal Villas. Dlamini revealed that he is a Swazi, who was born in Nhlangano but then moved to South Africa after completing high school.

Releasing

“Yes I’m a Swazi and that’s the main reason why all the roles I get are in the mother language. I’ll also be releasing an album similar to that one of HHP but I’ll be rhyming in SiSwati,” he said.
The two stars were brought to the dinner by Comprehensive Car Hire South Africa’s Jabu Magagula. Ingle on the other hand, is well known for having produced albums for South African top Gospel stars that include Rebecca Malope, Lindelani Mkhize and Avante amongst others. He is always remembered for having won South African awards for Rebecca’s previous four albums.

He has been nominated under the category for Best Producer in the SABC Crown Gospel Awards, where he is up against the likes of Sipho ‘Big Fish’ Makhabane and others. Asked to comment on the awards, he said it was always an honour for him to be nominated as it shows that he is delivering the best for the people. “It feels so good. The fact that I’m up against Makhabane is no problem at all because we are good friends anyway, so even if he beats me to it, I will not have a problem, “he said.

The star, who has worked with local groups like Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors, France Dlamini and Khayalethu to name but a few, told the Entertainment Desk that he now operates his own company Ingle Music. Besides producing for artists, the company also does events, scouts for new talent and also helps in the development of Arts and Culture both in Swaziland and South Africa.
