IT’S ALL HYPNOSIS!

MBABANE – What church leaders, who pose as pastors performing ‘miracles’ in the name of God, do to get their congregants fall into deep sleep while they stomp upon them, make them  eat inedible things such as live snake, mice, human hair and grass is put their targets into a trance in a process called hypnosis.

It is not magic, the hand of God has nothing to do with it and anyone can do it. All it takes is skill and practice. The theory is very simple and highly possible, according to experts.

A probe by this newspaper into to how these pastors manipulate the minds of their followers into doing such degrading acts has proven that all they do is tap into the unconscious minds of their subject in a process called hypnosis.

Once you have successfully bypassed the conscious (alert) mind of the human brain, suggestions or commands are then planted in the person’s mind so that whatever you suggest or command becomes a ‘reality’ to that hypnotised person.  

For most people when being under the spell of hypnosis, they would not feel anything out of the ordinary. During the hypnotic process, the hypnotiser (in this case, the ‘miracle pastors’), uses his horned hypnotic skills to tap into the unconscious mind of the subject to eat grass and make suggestions into the hypnotised person(s) that it tastes like chocolate, for example.

 Hypnosis can be described as a state of increased responsiveness and heightened alertness that can be induced to a person, either with their consent or without them knowing that they are hypnotised.
A trance, according to the Macmillan English dictionary, is a state caused by hypnosis in which someone can move and speak but is not conscious in a normal way.
