MBABANE – Who should make sexual advances between married couples? A marriage between a security guard and her husband is on the brink of collapse as each party is shifting the responsibility of initiating sex to the other.

The husband, Mduduzi Ndlangamandla, now wants his wife, Phumzile Dlamini, out of their marriage for allegedly denying him conjugal rights.
The parties were married to each other on November 22, 2013 through Civil Rites in community of property.
In his particulars of claim, Ndlangamandla alleged that Dlamini refused to play her role as a wife as she denied him conjugal rights such that the parties last engaged in sexual intercourse in April 2016.

He averred that his wife also had an obligation as his spouse to make sexual advances towards him as her husband.
The applicant (Ndlangamandla) insisted that Dlamini does not do that since she ceased a long time ago from playing her role as a wife to him.
Ndlangamandla further pointed out that when denying him conjugal rights, Dlamini claimed that he was engaged in extra-marital affairs and advised him to go and seek satisfaction outside the household when he made sexual advances towards her.

“The defendant (Dlamini) neither washes my clothes nor cooks for me. She claims that when washing plaintiff’s (Ndlangamandla) clothes she subsequently gets sick, while she does not cook; claiming to be tired as a result of employment duties as a security guard,” alleged the husband.
He told the court that on or about June 2015, a meeting was convened at the marital home by the parties’ families where his complaints against his wife were deliberated.

According to the husband, present in the delegation was his family and his wife’s sister, Phindile Dlamini, who advised his wife to execute her duties as a wife, respect him and to be humble.
