DAD WHIPS BOY WITH ELECTRIC CABLE OVER SPILT MEALIE MEAL

MBABANE – His scars immediately remind one of the whipping which African slaves used to endure at the hands of their masters.

Five- year- old *Musa suffered the similar fate of the slaves allegedly at the hands of his biological father Sibusiso Masango who violently whipped his tiny body using an electric cable.

His ‘crime’ was to spill the family mealie meal while doing what most children his age do, that is to play.
As a result of the severe beating, *Musa had to be hospitalised for a month at the Mbabane Government Hospital where he even spent Christmas Day.  

Musa’s mother was allegedly not spared from the beating as she tried to stop her live in lover from beating their child and the same cable was used to punish her and their two other children.
As a result of the violent act, the Social Welfare Department, under the Deputy Prime Minister’s (DPM) office has taken two of the minors to a place of safety.

The other minor,

who also sustained minor injuries during the beating, was reportedly taken to a place of safety yesterday.
 The place of safety will not be disclosed to avoid a situation where the whereabouts of the minors would be known.
Masango has since been arrested and has been in custody since December 18, 2016 when the incident occurred.
The unmarried couple has three children together and Masango, who is employed as a driver, allegedly impregnated his partner with their first child while she was 15 years old.
